Supreme Court to Hear Arguments in Ten Commandments Cases

More than 15 months after Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore lost his job for disobeying a federal court order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the
state courthouse, the larger issue involved is about to be argued in front of the U.S. Supreme Court.

I guess this will be one of the main stories today in the news. Personally I think it's a no-brainer,but who said Liberals had brains.


If you clearly read the argument, you will see posting the Ten Commandments in public does nothave the Government supporting a specific religion. Ironically it will be held in a court depicting Moses holding the Ten Commandments in the background. Yeah, want to tear that wall down too? The argument is a war of ideology. We are a Judeo Christian based Nation. Get over it. The problem is many view ideology itself has become religion and our judges are pushing that non-
religious ideology onto us. You can’t explain that to the deaf though.


The core statement is the following.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free
exercise thereof."


So does displaying the Ten Commandments represent Congress making a law establishing a religion? No of course not. Is Congress attempting to prohibit free speech of? Yes, I believe they are.


Some facts supporting the United States having a base in Judeo-Christian heritage.


  • In 1776, 11 of the 13 colonies required that one had to be a Christian to be eligible to run for political
    office.

  • In 1777, the Continental Congress voted to spend $300,000 to purchase Bibles for distribution in the nation.

  • Our DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE declares, "...the laws of nature and of nature's God... We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by the Creator with certain unalienable rights... appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions..."

  • The GETTYSBURG ADDRESS states "...this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom..."

  • 94% OF THE WRITINGS OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS OF THE U.S. CONTAINED
    QUOTATIONS FROM THE HOLY SCRIPTURES.

  • THE STATE CONSTITUTIONS OF ALL 50 STATES MENTION GOD.

  • The NATIONAL ANTHEM written by Francis Scott Key (who was also director of the American Bible Society) says: "This be our motto - 'In God Is Our Trust'."

  • The motto, "In God We Trust" was adopted by Congress in 1956. It is inscribed on our coins and currency.

  • On that First "Thanksgiving", who do you think the people were giving thanks to? To God!

  • Our PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE declares that we are "...one nation, under God..."

  • The famous "Liberty Bell" has part of Leviticus 25:10 inscribed on it: "Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof."

  • Part of the Scripture Proverbs 14:34 is inscribed above the L.A. city hall door: "RIGHTEOUSNESS EXALTETH A NATION: BUT SIN IS A REPROACH TO ANY PEOPLE."

  • An image of Moses carrying the tablets of God's Law faces the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

  • The U.S. Congress begins every session with prayer.

  • The entering President takes his courtroom OATH OF OFFICE with his right hand on the Holy Bible, and concludes his vow "So help me God."
